Work PAY & P(L)AY explores the exploitation of the female body, and the human body in general, within consumer society. In this context, the vulgarization of the human body becomes a normalized, everyday phenomenon.
“We consume sex on a daily basis, often unconsciously or without critical reflection. Our visual environment is saturated with re-sexualized objects, which have become an integral part of everyday experience.”

The installation PAY & P(L)AY features an oversized, custom-made abacus — an ancient tool used for calculating purchases and debts. The traditional counting device is modernized by incorporating the female anatomy. In this work, the principles of capital and consumption are transferred onto the body: everything is for sale, everything is bought.

Visitors can “pay,” calculate, and interact with an abacus shaped as female breasts. In this way, the piece interrogates the boundaries between play, commerce, sexuality, and exploitation, emphasizing how the body in contemporary society becomes both an instrument and a commodity, as well as a visual and tactile symbol of consumer logic.
